With a wealth of state-of-the-art technology at our fingertips, we have numerous ways to streamline your visits and improve the quality and comfort of your oral health care. At Schultz Center for Dentistry, we don’t invest in any technology unless we know it can benefit your treatment and overall experience.
We believe technology has value for you when it educates and informs, improves the comfort and efficiency of procedures like root canals, and helps you remain calm and comfortable during treatment. Dr. Jeffrey Schultz is committed to staying at the forefront of advances in the art and science of smile design to ensure the highest standard of care.
Please take a few moments to browse through the innovative technology we offer, then call us to arrange a visit to see how they improve your dental experience.
High Definition Intraoral Camera
Our dentist, Dr. Jeffrey L. Schultz, recently added one of the most advanced intraoral cameras available to our practice: Digital Doc’s IRIS HD USB 3.0. This camera is nothing less than state-of-the-art, and it gives you and Dr. Schultz the ability to see specific areas of your mouth in high-definition on a nearby video monitor. The IRIS HD intraoral camera gives you a detailed picture of what’s going on with your teeth and gums.
With the IRIS HD intraoral camera, you and Dr. Schultz can view the image of a tooth magnified many times and give you a firsthand view of what’s happening inside your mouth. Dr. Schultz can show you exactly what he sees so that you better understand your needs and the options available for treatment.
The last time you had a dental impression taken, you probably remember it being messy and uncomfortable. You had to bite down on a big metal tray filled with gooey impression paste and wait for it to set. If the first impression wasn't usable, the process was repeated.
Today at Schultz Center for Dentistry, we offer digital impressions that eliminate the mess and discomfort and provides highly detailed and accurate results. Instead of the traditional method, Dr. Schultz directs a small intraoral wand over your teeth that digitally capture impressions of your teeth.
Digital impressions improve your comfort and aid in productivity. Since they are digital, we can email them to our custom dental lab instead of shipping stone models in the mail.
One way we can improve your visits is by streamlining our record-keeping process and using digital records. All your information including x-rays, intraoral photos, and patient history is stored securely on our in-house network and can be quickly accessed by our team members for monitoring or treatment purposes. We can efficiently send your records to specialists or your insurance company, and since we reduce the amount of paper we use, digitally storing your information is also better for the environment.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
At Schultz Center for Dentistry, your comfort is our number one priority. Receiving dental care is essential, but there’s just no reason it has to be stressful. We strive to do anything we can to ensure that your time with us as enjoyable as possible.
For this reason, we encourage you to do whatever it takes to stay comfortable. If you want to listen to music or your favorite podcast, we welcome you to bring your phone and earbuds. We’re also pleased to offer overhead TVs in all our treatment rooms so you can sit back, relax, and watch your favorite shows as we work to improve your oral health. You might be pleasantly surprised to see how quickly your appointment will go with a little visual distraction!
We love using technology that improves the quality of care we deliver. By using digital x-rays vs. traditional x-rays we can offer our patients many advantages:
- We can produce high-resolution images that provide advanced diagnostic capabilities.
- Digital x-rays produce 90% less radiation that traditional x-rays.
- It saves you time because we don't have to wait for films to be developed
Our team understands that you would probably rather be anywhere else than in a dental office receiving treatment. Millions of people feel the same way, but we have found that gentle nitrous oxide is usually all that’s needed to help our patients relax and get the care they need.
Also called inhalation sedation, we deliver nitrous oxide through a small nasal mask. Just breathe normally, and in a few moments, you will feel very relaxed, dreamy, and slightly detached from all the activity around you. However, you will remain fully conscious and able to respond to questions from your team.
Nitrous oxide has no lingering effects, and when we finish treatment, we’ll switch to pure oxygen for a few minutes that will leave you feeling alert and refreshed. You don’t need someone to drive you to and from the office, and you will be able to go on with your usual routine when you leave our office.
Receiving dental care is a challenge for many people, so at Schultz Center for Dentistry, we’re always looking for new ways to streamline your visits and improve your comfort while still delivering world-class dental care. Our electric handpieces are stronger than air-driven handpieces because a motor is driving the bur instead of air.
This technology allows Dr. Schultz to remove decay quickly and efficiently and minimize the time you have to spend in the dental chair. Electric handpieces are quieter and also provide a level of precision that’s not possible with air-driven tools.
If you experience anxiety when you think about root canal treatment, you’re not alone! But at Schultz Center for Dentistry, we do everything possible to provide you with a comfortable, stress-free procedure, and rotary endodontics help us do that.
Using rotary endodontics, Dr. Schultz performs efficient root canal treatment, and that means you have to spend less time in the dental chair. We can also achieve more desirable outcomes for our patients because rotary endodontic technology cleans the root canals more thoroughly than traditional endodontic tools.
